WEAC and the WEA Academy are sponsoring a free, half-day Introduction to Restorative Practices workshop for union members on Friday, June 29, in Madison.
Restorative Practices are grounded in a framework that values all members of the school community (students, staff, parents, and community partners) and sees them as partners in creating safe and supportive schools. This framework includes a variety of practices for supporting the academic and social growth of every student and creating collaborative cultures. Workshop participants will learn a variety of ways restorative practices can be used to increase engagement and participation resulting in increased instruction time and a reduction in behavior concerns. Everyone will leave with effective strategies that can be used and shared with others immediately.
The workshop is Friday, June 29, from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the WEAC Region 6 office, 33 Nob Hill Road, Madison. A free lunch is provided.
Online registration is required and space is limited.
