The Registration Desk is located on the corner of Milwaukee and Academy Streets. (Former State Electric Building parking lot) Please be there by 12:15 p.m. so the volunteers can get you registered and staged in time. The 1 mile parade begins at 1 p.m.
Please contact Region 6 if you are planning to attend so we know how many pencils and book marks will be needed to give to the little ones. Click here to register.
Don’t forget to wear your Region 6 t-shirts – if you need one, please be sure to indicate your size on the registration form link. Contact Rachel Schendel if you have any questions at email@example.com or 800-397-2287 ext. 441.
LaborFest, Monday Sept. 2 from Noon to 5:30 p.m.
Join us to celebrate Labor Day at SCFL’s annual LaborFest, Monday, Sept. 2 from Noon to 5:30 pm. Come to the Fest, and while you are there, help us to publicize public education issues by volunteering some time staffing the Region 6 informational table.
Just a half-hour or one-hour shift would do it, so feel free to bring your family and enjoy the fest while helping us out. We will also have the opportunity to participate in the Solidarity Roll Call at 2 p.m.
Please sign up by contacting John Wedge – firstname.lastname@example.org or 608-298-2381.
The Jimmys and the Chris O’Leary Band will perform this year. The event is free and open to the public. Family-friendly activities include magic shows, face painting, a bounce house, balloon twister, and a caricature artist.
This year, SCFL is collecting deodorant, small bottles of laundry detergent, liquid body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, hand/body wash and food gift cards to help students who are homeless in the MMSD Transition Education Program.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
