Members Only Workshop: Know Your Rights When Working with Violent Students

Join your colleagues from throughout WEAC Region 6 in Janesville on Thursday, January 16, for a presentation and candid discussion with a WEAC attorney about your rights when working with students who become violent or disruptive.

Much is misunderstood about state and federal laws pertaining to school employees’ rights and best practices when working with students and students with disabilities and Individualized Education Programs. WEAC’s attorneys will brief attendees on some common misconceptions and answer questions. You will leave the workshop with a better understanding of how you and your colleagues can make your schools better, safer places to learn and teach.

The workshop is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sidelines, 731 South Wuthering Hills Drive, in Janesville.

RSVP by January 10, 2020, to reserve a spot at this crucial workshop. If you have questions, e-mail Region 6 director Dustin Beilke or call the Region 6 office at 1-800-397-2287.

This workshop is only available to union members.
